North-Central Texas: We have major schools of music at Southern Methodist University and the University of North Texas. We have the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra's community and educational programs. We have uncounted numbers of excellent private teachers and schools. With our wealth of orchestras and other musical groups, we have one of the largest and best pools of talent for stringed-instrument instruction in the world. It may not be that hard to find a teacher or a school, but it may take some reaearch to find the right teacher or school for you.

We are working on assembling links to some of the area stringed-instrument teachers and schools. We hope these listings will  make it easier for you to find the right one for your child or for you.

Suzuki Strings of Dallas offers Suzuki-inspired instruction in violin and viola. The goal is to provide rich and enjoyable music experiences that will contribute to the development of self-confident, happy children.

WIth BM and MME degrees, Irene Mitchell studied twice with Dr. Suzuki at the Talent Education Institute in Matsumoto, Japan. She founded Suzuki Strings of Dallas in 1981 and has served as clinician for over one hundred Suzuki programs throughout the Americas and Europe.
