You can count on a professional repair, restoration, or bow rehair from us. Either Jay or Duncan will do the work; we do not employ interns or contract workers. We guarantee our work: within the 12 months after we do a repair or restoration, we will make any needed adjustments  to that work at no cost to you (excluding, of course, additional damage or failure from improper handling or treatment of the instrument after it left our shop).

When we assess your instrument for repair or restoration, our goal is the best value for you. You will get our honest opinion on the best repair method, considering its current value and condition, estimated market value after the repair, and the intrinsic value of the item to you. If we think the best value for you is not to repair the instrument, we’ll tell you so that you can make an informed decision.

Bow Rehairs

We search out the finest bow hair available worldwide, and use that on every bow we rehair. Depending on our workload, we may need up to a week; usually we will have a loaner bow available if you need one. If you have an emergency and need faster turnaround than we quote, we will try to accommodate you; when you tell us you need it sooner, we will tell you if there will be a charge to expedite the work. Violin, viola, and cello bow rehairs are $54.50; bass rehairs are $62.82 (white or mixed hair) and $50.81 (black hair).

Other Repairs and Restoration

We will give you our best-faith estimate on time and cost. We will contact you if, on closer examination, the needed repairs will differ in cost from our estimate.

For all rehairing, repair, and restoration services, unless we have called to tell you that the repair is completed, please call us at 469.330.9998 or e-mail us before coming to pick it up, to be sure that the repair is completed. We do our best to have the work ready within the time estimate, but with so many variables in instrument repair, that is not always possible.
